lighting of the lamp. In his presidential address, Dr. Dilip Trivedi welcomed the
distinguished gathering, lauded the persistent commitment of the teaching fraternity toward
women’s empowerment and education, and reaffirmed the management’s unwavering support toward
academic excellence.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Avinash Supe, Director of Clinical Governance, Hinduja Hospital,

and felicitated by the SMES Management in recognition of their distinguished contributions
to education and healthcare.

service, research publications, academic achievements, patents, and state, national, and
university-level honours. Faculty members were also acknowledged for significant milestones
in teaching, research, and higher education.
In her address, Dr. Uma Shankar reflected on the enduring significance of the
teacher-student relationship and emphasised the role of educators in nurturing critical
thinking, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Drawing from Indian and Western philosophical
traditions, she encouraged teachers to inspire thoughtful inquiry and remain humble learners
throughout their academic journeys.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Avinash Supe highlighted the evolving role of educators
in a rapidly changing world. He stressed that while information is readily available,
teachers play a crucial role in guiding students towards meaningful learning and helping
them realise their potential. Addressing the challenges of engaging Gen Z and Gen Alpha
learners, he advocated adaptive and empathetic teaching approaches and urged educators to
adopt Artificial Intelligence responsibly. He concluded by emphasising that the future of
education lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Human Intelligence, and
Humanity.
